The driving test is in two parts.

From 1st January 2012, the first part of the test, the Theory Test, has been using questions which will not be published. Practice questions and answers, not used in theory tests, will still be available to help candidates with revision.

The second part is called the Practical Test. It consists of three sections:

  • An eye sight test
  • A car maintenance test
  • A test of practical driving skill
Do I need to pass my Theory Test before learning to drive?
No. It is often better to learn the theory at the same time as learning to drive.
Why?
Because it is more meaningful and it's easier to remember and apply.
Can I get help?
Yes, see Books & CDs and Theory & Hazard Perception Tests .
What if I need extra help, or a different language?
We can arrange for books in many languages, and can arrange extra help on a one-to-one basis at modest prices.
